- WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE VEHICLE INSPECTION PROCESS?
As soon as you bring in your vehicle for inspection, a Marshal welcomes you and collects your particulars (vehicle license or previous road worthiness certificate) for conformity checks. Thereafter, he will take you to a Front Desk Officer for data entry and update.
Next, you will be required to pay the appropriate fees and be directed to a waiting room where you can watch the entire vehicle inspection process. It takes about 15-20 minutes for the process to be completed.

LACVIS caters for all categories of vehicles, either Heavy Duty Vehicles or Light Duty Vehicles. Hence, the fees vary depending on the category of vehicle and its engine capacity.
- HOW AFFORDABLE IS THE TEST FEE?

However, all payments are one off and could include both for vehicle inspection and road worthiness fee.
- WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE VEHICLE INSPECTION?
The computerised test result is analysed by a LACVIS’s certification officer. If your vehicle passes the test, you will get a Vehicle Inspection Report and a Road Worthiness Tag and Certificate from a resident Vehicle Inspection Officer (VIO).
However, if your vehicle fails the inspection, the certification officer will tell you the defect(s) detected and you will be advised to fix it and return for a retest before 30 days.
- DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR ANOTHER TEST FEE AFTER I FIX THE DEFECT(S)?
No. After fixing the defects, you can come for a retest as many times as possible during the 30 days period. However, if you bring in the vehicle after the 30 days is over, you will have to pay for inspection only to have your vehicle inspected.
- CAN I ANALYSE THE TEST RESULT?
Yes, you can. The report is easy to read and understand. However, our certification officer will still guide you through the report to clarify and answer further questions you may want to ask.
